A network for and by women

International network of women working together for the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross. The mission of Tiffany Circle in Switzerland is to achieve sustainable change in the lives of the most underprivileged women. We do so by helping the women become more self-reliant, in order to take a first step out of the situation of poverty and isolation, which often passes from generation to generation. After all, a powerful mother is better able to take care of herself and her children and to participate fully in society. As a result, her children have a better chance of a better future.

Tiffany Circle will be investing in projects in Switzerland and around the world and measure their impact.  As a member, you are directly involved in the work of the Red Cross and visit the project Tiffany Circle is supporting.

Missions

Our mission: 1 + 1 = 3

We believe in the power of women which strengthen generations, families and communities.

Women play a very crucial role in every living conditions. They invest about 90% of their income in the education, health and nutrition of their families.

Studies show that when women are empowered, the whole society benefits. Healthy and powerful women have a positive influence on the development of children and the family.

Participating in Tiffany Circle means using Time, Talent and Treasure. Members of Tiffany Circle not only give money, but also their time and talent, for our projects and for our network.

Women across the world

As a member, you will have the opportunity to be actively involved. You can choose to attend series of unique, informative and engaging events throughout the year. You will also have the opportunity to meet and engage with a diverse group of successful and passionate women on a national and international level all over the world. Members will receive invitations to international Tiffany Circle events in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Australia. One of them is the annual national summit in Washington D.C. where you can meet Tiffany Circle members from all around the world and enjoy conferences and workshops.

Tiffany Circle arround the world

The Tiffany Circle currently has branches in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Germany and Qatar are in the process to start their own circle. Tiffany Circle members collectively determine the goals of the circle.

In January 2020 we started a Tiffany Circle in Switzerland. With this unique initiative you’ll become part of a strong growing movement of active and dedicated women engaged around a conviction: their ability to make things happen.

Red cross: Inseparable

Tiffany Circle is closely linked to the Red Cross. Members are therefore directly involved in the relief efforts of the Red Cross and are given the opportunity to learn about the challenges within emergency relief and the working methods of the Red Cross.

The Red Cross is a worldwide network of more than 17 million volunteers in 192 countries. This means that the Red Cross is always on the spot. And because of its neutral position, the Red Cross can continue to provide assistance, even in conflict areas. Read more information about the Red Cross brand and its work at www.redcross.ch

Tiffany Circle: History

The Tiffany Circle is named after the beautiful windows produced by Tiffany Studios in 1917 for the American Red Cross headquarters in Washington D.C. The windows were funded by the Women’s Relief Corps of the North and the United Daughters of the Confederacy of the South as an act of reconciliation and hope following the end of the American Civil War. A grant of $5,000 each was made to honor the work of women in the mission. The total sum of $10,000 remains a symbolic amount for the Tiffany Circle.

The women in these windows personify virtues synonymous with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement: hope, mercy, charity, truth and fortitude. Members of the Tiffany Circle provide living examples of these virtues in their local communities, by ensuring the Red Cross has the ability to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to life’s emergencies.
